Hey folks, what’s up? Did y’all have a good Valentine’s day? I certainly did. I got to spend some quality time with my family–including my super sweet little nephew. I then spent the evening with some of my favourite ladies: Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Mindy Lahiri. I also did some reading. So that’s nice too 🙂
I’ve actually been trying to read less lately. That might sound odd, I know, but here’s the thing. I have a tendency to turn into a hermit and read in all my spare time. And that’s totally fine. But I want to build more relationships with people–not just read about them. You know? Because really, I can be quite the hermit. Because of this less reading, it is entirely possible that I will also be blogging less. But we’ll see how it goes!
I didn’t post last Monday, but since the previous Monday, I’ve read three books! The first of which was The Lake House by Kate Morton. This is the first book I’ve read by her and I loved it! It’s a quieter story that I had expected, but it was totally great. It’s a story about family that spans decades with a cold case mystery thrown into the mix. I really enjoyed this book and will review it soon!
The next book I picked up was Me Before You by JoJo Moyes. I picked this one up in the spirit of Valentine’s Day because it is supposedly a love story and everyone seems to love it. Unfortunately, I am not one of those people. Which is a shame because I totally was one of those people for the first two thirds of the book. However, the last third of the book I found completely terrible and enraging. I will post a full review and rant soon 😛
Finally, I read Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. This is the first book by her that I’ve read! I loved it so much! I thought I was going to be a lot more fluffy and cutesy than it was, and I really appreciated that. I really related to Cath. I know a lot of people did too, but mostly because of her participation in fandom and fan fiction. That’s not how I related to her personally. However, I totally loved her and enjoyed going along for the ride with her!
Right now I’m reading an ARC of This is Where the World Ends by Amy Zhang and still listening to the audiobook of Red Rising by Pierce Brown. So far I am really enjoying them both!
