The last few weeks have been pretty interesting for me workwise. This past week has been mostly okay, but some times it has been a struggle. I haven’t had much patience this week when I’ve been shelving books. Like, children, why must you pull all the books off the shelves? And parents, why must you let them?? When I’ve been at customer service it’s been mostly okay. But I had one very grumpy customer this week regarding fines and it turned into this whole big thing. OI WITH THE POODLES ALREADY (Gilmore Girls, anyone?).
On the plus side though, I’ve finally managed to get in at the rehab centre for physio for my wrist. Carpal tunnel is not the greatest. Hopefully it will help! I’ve been doing these weird little wrist stretches at home when no one is looking…because they look pretty silly. I’ve also been more conscious of my posture when I’m both sitting and standing. Apparently there is tension on a nerve in my neck or something and that’s not doing me any good.
I finally finished all ten seasons of Friends on Netflix. Well, I guess it’s not really finally because I basically marathoned them. When I finished that, I borrowed volume one of the first season of Outlander at the library! I love it. I also marathoned that. It was really true to the book which was great! Although, if you know me, you know I certainly could have done without the sexytimes. At least they weren’t in every episode? Anyway, now the theme song is stuck in my head and just won’t get out! Sing me a song of a lass that is gone… Say, could that lass be I? ….
This week I have been majorly stressing over my review books. SO MANY REVIEW COPIES ON THE GO. WHAT HAVE I DONE TO MYSELF. I thought I had spaced everything out so I wouldn’t have to many and wouldn’t be overwhelmed. Yeah, what a fail. I have not yet mastered that skill. I’ve also go to start writing the reviews of the ones I have finished… It’s not my to-do list!! (Check back April 8th, 17th, and 19th for book tours and giveaways! —see what I mean? What was I thinking??)
Speaking of my to-do list, I’ve made a pretty detailed one! I sat down a few times this week and brain stormed and scheduled posts for the blog. I have been in such a blogging slump lately (as you’ve probably noticed)! It was so encouraging to get the creative juices flowing again! I’ve come up with some ideas that I think will be really great for Fuelled By Fiction. Now I just have to manage my time so I can sit down and get them done!
Another thing that has been on my mind lately: BEA—This is my current conundrum. I have been debating whether to go for months. My work situation was little rocky for a while, but I’ve got that straightened out now (mostly). My boyfriend’s work situation was also rocky, but now it’s pretty stable—but quite new, so I don’t know if he could get the time off to go with me. Also, if anyone that I know could go with me, none of them are interested in books. I don’t know any bloggers in real life, or even really that well on the internet. I’ve been drooling over the BEA website, and the idea of going to NYC—I’ve never been. I want to go so bad. Are you going? If so, let’s connect! Actually, either way, let’s connect! If you’ve been, any advice on the decision making process would be so welcome.
What have you been up to this week?
